Pedogenesis
‘Pedogenesis’ is a combination of the Ancient Greek words πέδον, pedon, ‘soil’; and γένεσις, génesis, ‘origin, birth’: ‘soil birth’.
Pedogenesis is the process of soil formation from weathering (physical), chemical, and biological processes on rock material.
