Oxidising Agent (Oxidant, Oxidiser)
An oxidising agent (also called an oxidant or oxidiser) is one which causes another substance to be oxidised (lose electrons). The oxidising agent is itself reduced (receives electrons).
See Reducing Agent (Reductant, Reducer), Oxidation, Reduction, and Redox (Reduction-Oxidation).
