BSc(Hons), U.Syd. – double major in biochemistry and microbiology, with honours in microbiology
PhD, U.Syd – soil microbiology

Pursuits:
I ended up in IT of all things, helping hubby. Together we sold a very popular program into fifteen countries — he did all the programming and I handled the admin, built and maintained the website, and prepared all print advertising materials. From this I discovered that I really enjoyed print and digital publishing! I’ve built sites and prepared print materials for others, and we run our own server.

During all this I was developing a serious and previously-unknown interest in plants, and then I discovered jujube trees, and realised that perhaps I should have been an agronomist…

So I combined and channelled all the above passions and interests into The Jujube Info and Care Blog, on which I write (and publish!) articles on botany, soil chemistry, soil microbiology and biochemistry.

I find that incredibly fulfilling and rewarding, but all it’s managed to do is reawaken other slumbering interests! It isn’t fair on the blog readers to go into the finer details I would like to explore deeply — and I do mean finer and deeply — so I created this book project to funnel those (probably undiagnosed autie) urges into.

In a world of seven billion, there’s bound to be at least one other out there who will enjoy reading this book-to-be as much as I will enjoy researching and writing it. And if that’s you, please do say hello! And I’m very receptive to you publishing your own contributions on this medium should you wish — full credit given, of course!
