Pedology
‘Pedology’ is a combination of the Greek words πέδον, pedon, ’soil’, and λόγος, logos, ’study’, and is one of two main branches of soil science, the other being Edaphology.
Pedology is the study of soils in their natural environment and is concerned with the abiotic (non-living) properties of soil: its formation, chemistry, morphology, and classification.
